| Abstract | In the last 35 years the steel industry has reduced its energy consumption per tonne of steel produced by 50%. A similar reduction has also been achieved in the impact on the environment. The worldwide economy will have to make a major effortto just be able to get close to the ambitious Kyoto Protocol and Copenhagen Conference target. Tenova’s R&D approach isoriented to a continuous improvement of its technologies for achieving the best performances, in energy consumption and greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions reduction. |
