The present work is devoted to the study of cutting tool wear resistance and the assessment of surface quality parameters during the turning of high-manganese steel 110G13L (Hadfield steel). Experimental research was conducted under finishing machining conditions. Maximum allowable blunting criteria for the studied grades of hard metals have been established. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the tool life of indexable multi-faceted inserts made of various tool materials: hard metals of grades T30K4, T15K6, VK8, and TN20. The surface roughness parameters of the machined surface have been determined and analyzed. The obtained results provide practical recommendations for the selection of tool materials for the efficient machining of Hadfield steel components, aimed at increasing tool life and achieving the required surface quality.
