The year 2009 was marked by an important event in implementation of Agreement Between the Government of the USA and the Government of the RF Concerning the Disposition of Highly-Enriched Uranium Extracted from Nuclear Weapons of 18 February, 1993 (Megatons to Megawatts Programme). HEU-LEU Agreement involves the supplies of low-enriched uranium (LEU), produced by SC Rosatom enterprises from highly-enriched uranium (HEU), to the US to use it as fuel for American NPPs. The executive agents for this Agreement are TENEX (100% subsidiary of Atomenergoprom) and United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC).
