Optimization of roll grooving for channel rolling is carried out on the basis of the developed “Two-stage optimization concept”, according to which optimization takes place in two stages: the search for the optimal passes scheme and the search for the optimal reduction mode. Previously, the creation of the "Space of channel pass schemes" was considered. The next step in the search for the optimal pass scheme is the formation and structuring of the "Space of channel passes schemes", which is the space of the first optimization. It includes all channel grooves intended for production of a channel of a certain number and type. Filling the space is carried out with the help of the “channel passes scheme generator”, which enables to create all options for channel grooves, without losing any of the possible options. Four main types of channel passes schemes are distinguished: straight-flange, flared flange, by method of bending and combined one. Each type of passes schemes has its own subtypes. A universal block structure of channel grooves has been developed, according to which any groove, regardless of the type of the scheme, is divided into ordered blocks of grooves. In order to establish the possibility of a strip transition from one channel groove to another one, within the block and during the transition from the grooves of one block to the grooves of another one, three main groove graphs and five auxiliary graphs have been created.

The reported study was funded by RFBR, project No. 20-38-90246.
