Daily production of hot-rolled steel is analyzed from the point of view of its correspondence to aimed strip thickness. New distribution of steel products using 12M Steel is suggested. Possible technological roots for hot rolled strip are displayed with explanation of operating algorithm by ArcelorMittal for efficiency and suitability of taken technical solutions. It allows to decrease metal rejects and sells on the secondary market and, therefore, to increase the total profit. If this solution is realized via decentralized and distributed software architecture, communication can be established through different levels of the automatization system at an enterprise. At the time of preparing the article, the system operated in test mode on the base of online data. Using the smart access to the order database, the developed multi-agent system predicts the most economic future process path for the product to fit onto a specific customer order. Such technical solution provides information exchange that is quite reliable and covering all enterprises; it also makes possible to conduct optimization along different technological chains.
