Currently Talnakh Concentrator processes massive and cupriferous ore charge via selective/bulk/selective technology. Talnakh Concentrator annual capacity makes up 7.5 mln. tons of mineral raw material. The flowsheet was developed and successfully implemented in 2001 and it underwent several improvements afterwards. The technique realized at Talnakh Concentrator operating facility permitted to improve the integrity and efficiency of mineral raw material processing. Production & technical development strategy of РС MMC “Norilsk Nickel” directed to the development of Talnakh operations of mineral complex includes extended mining of massive, cupriferous and disseminated ore along with staged expansion of Talnakh Concent rator. The project is realizing on phase-by-phase basis via start-up complexes one of which is the start-up complex No. 1 using current selective/bulk/selective process. Start-up complex No. 1 was completed on 22.01.2015 and included installation of new Outotec flotation cells (OK-100TS) at grinding & flotation shop of Talnakh Concentrator. New installed flotation cells, pumping equipment, sump system along with modern smart automation system replacing obsolete ones provide the production rate at Talnakh Concentrator comparable to that reached in 2014. Talnakh Concentrator expansion is to be realized in the frame of start-up complex No. 2. For that purpose different technologies developed by specialists of Polar Division, Gintsvetmet Institute along with Gipronickel Institute and SGF Lakefield were estimated within the period from 2006 till 2011. Commissioning of start-up complex No. 2 with productivity appr. 10 mln. t/a is planned to be implemented in 2016.
